Kapital Vol. 1 Reading Group Formal Meeting

On 26th, we’ll be hosting ‘The Kapital Reading Group’, led by Thomas McLamb.

“Thomas McLamb is a PhD candidate in history at the University of California, San Diego. He specializes in the history of science and technology in the modern Middle East. His current Marx research focuses on the connections between Marx’s notebooks on the history of technology, non-western societies, and colonialism.”

The group meets twice a month to discuss Kapital Vol. 1 by Karl Marx. If you wish to join, all you need to do is show up. If you need a copy of the Penguin Classics edition, you are encouraged to place an order with us, though it is not mandatory. The meeting on the 12th is ‘informal’, which means there is no assigned reading. The informal meetings provide space for revisiting past topics, and clarifying questions; this helps to keep a momentum and regular habit, as well as it keeps formal meetings directed. Formal meetings typically have assigned readings, such as: Chapter 7-11, which is what will be discussed on the 26th, at 7PM.
